The Fenway is the starting point for the green band of parks and recreational areas known as the Emerald Necklace designed by the famous Frederick Law Olmsted in the 19th century. Fenway is also home to the world famous Boston Museum of Art and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. For baseball fans, the area is most famous for Fenway Park, built in 1912.
Northeastern and Boston University give the area a lively student population. Beautiful apartment buildings line the curving streets and the area is considered a good place to buy homes.
